Our natural pools bring a deliberately shaped swimming area together with a planted regeneration zone. Water, planting, edges and the surrounding garden are designed as one composition, rather than treating the pool as something separate from its setting.

The result can be crisp and architectural or quieter and more traditional. What stays consistent is a usable space for swimming and a layout that feels right from both the terrace and the house.

A natural pool is not an ordinary pond with a swimming area added. Its structure, circulation, filtration and planted zone need to work together, with access to the equipment that supports them.

We discuss the water source, garden levels, construction access and space for servicing before settling the design. The less visible decisions deserve the same care as the beautiful ones.

Natural does not mean maintenance free. Clear expectations and a practical care routine are part of the brief.

Care includes removing debris, managing planting and checking the circulation and filtration equipment. The routine depends on the setting and system, so we explain what your pool will need at handover.

We do not offer pool heating. Water temperature follows the weather and seasons, an important part of deciding whether natural swimming is right for you.

How is a natural pool different from a swimming pond?

In our range, a natural pool has a more defined, formal swimming area with a visible planted regeneration zone. A swimming pond takes a softer approach to its outer edges and landscape. Both are designed for swimming, unlike a habitat-focused wildlife pond.

Do I swim through the plants?

The swimming area is kept distinct from the planted zone. The two form part of the same water system, but the layout provides open space to swim and appropriate routes into and out of the water.

How much garden space do I need?

Allow for more than the swimming rectangle. Planting, filtration, access, paths and room for construction all need consideration. The consultation looks at the complete layout rather than quoting a universal minimum.

Will the water always look exactly the same?

It is a living outdoor system, so planting and water appearance can change as the pool establishes and seasons turn. Filtration, circulation and appropriate care support water quality, but a natural pool should not be sold as a sterile or maintenance-free environment.

Can an existing chlorine pool be converted?

Some existing pools can be adapted, subject to the structure's condition and available space for a suitable filtration layout. An assessment comes before any recommendation.
